Week 3 included some running backs getting starts due to injury (Joique Bell, Bernard Pierce, Jonathan Franklin). It also included a blockbuster trade (Trent Richardson to Indy).
Peyton Manning continues to “injure” defenses while CEO Joe Banner continues to “injure” the season ticket holders in Cleveland. The Giant's offensive line “injured” Tom Coughlin and Dwayne Bowe and Hakeem Nicks “injured” fantasy owners production.
Another Week shows us why injuries are the rule and durability is the exception to the rule in football. In the Training Table, I will be providing you with recent news and notes as it pertains to injuries all season here at PFF Fantasy.
Arizona Cardinals
Reshard Mendenhall — Running Back
Injury Date: September 22, 2013 — Toe
Fantasy Prognosis: Mendenhall was able to play in the game after being questionable for the game. Andre Ellington saw 27 snaps to Mendenhalls 23 snaps. Mendenhall has been banged up early in the season and Ellington has answered the call in limited snaps. Mendenhall is probable heading into the week, but is slowly losing snaps to the rookie.
Larry Fitzgerald — Wide Reciever
Injury Date: September 07, 2013 — Hamstring Strain
Fantasy Prognosis: Fitzgerald was able to play against the Saints and finished with five catches for 64 yards receiving. Fitzgerald is slowly getting better and did not appear to be as hindered in Week 3. Fitzgerald will matchup with Tampa Bay in Week 4. Tampa currently ranks 16th in pass defense and Fitzgerald may be a solid play.
Atlanta Falcons
Roddy White — Wide Receiver
Injury Date: August 15, 2013 — Ankle Injury
Fantasy Prognosis: White continues to progress. He did show some signs of improvement last week. He is a great buy low option in fantasy leagues right now. White will take some time to get back to 100%. He is almost six weeks removed from the injury. With New England in Week 4 followed by the Jets in Week 5 and a bye week, his production will increase in Week 7 coming off of the bye week.
Asante Samuel — Cornerback
Injury Date: August 26, 2013 — Thigh Injury
Fantasy Prognosis: Samuel was able to play in Week 3 and should be probable this week against the Patriots.
