The IDP Breakdown: Week 15 Edition

Jeff Ratcliffe gives you the IDPs you should start and who you should avoid in all of the Week 15 matchups using analysis based on game film, his weekly IDP projections, and the IDP Points Against table.

Cincinnati @ Philadelphia

This has been a season the Eagles would like to quickly forget. One of the few bright spots for Philadelphia in 2012 has been the play of DeMeco Ryans, who now has 98 total tackles (77 solo), a sack, and a pick on the year. Ryans continues to be a solid LB2 play this week against this Bengals team that gives up the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing LBs. Mychal Kendricks hasn’t been the most consistent IDP this season, but the good news is the Eagles finally broke down and moved him to the weak side, where he’s a much better fit. Kendricks arguably had his best game of the season, recording seven total tackles and an impressive three passes defensed. His stock is trending upward for 2013, as is Brandon Graham’s. The third-year man failed to record a sack last week, but he got four pressures on Josh Freeman. The sacks will come.

Speaking of sacks, Nick Foles was sacked six times by a very underwhelming Bucs pass rush. This week he faces a Bengals defense that currently leads the league in sacks. You’re upgrading all of your Cincinnati DLs here. Geno Atkins is having a special season, and he’s locked in your lineups. Michael Johnson was in a walking boot earlier in the week, so pay close attention to his status. If he plays, you start him. Carlos Dunlap has 2.5 sacks in the last two weeks, and you have to like his chances of adding to that total. He’s risk/reward, but the reward could be big in this one.
