The IDP Breakdown – Week 14 Edition

Daryl Sharpton has been a surprisingly solid option over the last month with 35 total tackles (23 solo) over that span. While I like Sharpton as roster depth for the fantasy playoffs, I’m not crazy about him in this matchup. Jacksonville has been brutal for tackle producing linebackers, as only the Cowboys yield less tackles per game to the position. … As expected, D.J. Swearinger was able to put up solid numbers last week against the Pats, but you’re going to want to fade him this week. I like Swearinger’s long-term outlook, but he’s only a matchup play at best for the rest of the season.

While Paul Posluszny may not be the best linebacker from a football perspective, he’s been a fantastic fantasy option in 2013. He’s posted double-digit tackles in four of his last five games, and gets a very strong matchup against the Texans, who currently give up the third-most fantasy points per game to linebackers. Posluszny is locked in as an LB1 this week. … John Cyprien also managed double-digit tackles last week in what was on paper a horrible matchup. His play has been very inconsistent, but Cyprien will have DB2-plus value down the stretch.
