New Orleans @ Atlanta
Sean Weatherspoon returned last week for the Falcons after having missed the previous three games. He showed no lingering effects from the ankle injury that sidelined him, recording six solo tackles against the Bucs. This is good news for his fantasy owners, and Weatherspoon is back as a high-end LB2 option. It’s no surprise that the Saints are a fantastic matchup for safeties. William Moore and Thomas DeCoud get a bump in this one as a result. Moore’s production has dipped from his early season numbers, but he comes with a high floor and gives owners some decent big play upside. He makes for a high-end DB2 play this week. DeCoud has the same upside, but comes with a lot more variance. Despite the matchup, it’s tough to trust him as anything more than a DB3.
This matchup is almost as good for the safeties on the other side of the ball. Roman Harper and Malcolm Jenkins have proven to be reliable DB1 options this season, so lock both in your lineups. We’re still only seeing Curtis Lofton in an every-down role. He’s the only New Orleans LB you’re trusting. You’re also trusting Cameron Jordan this week. Outside of the Eagles game in early November, Jordan has been relatively ineffective as a pass rushed, but he’s racked up 46 total tackles on the season. That’s good enough for low-end DL2 consideration in most scoring systems. Will Smith has also shown a fairly high tackle floor this season, and he can also sneak into your lineups in that DL2/DL3 range.
