The IDP Breakdown – Week 12 Edition

Kenny Vaccaro sat out last week due to a concussion and managed to only get in limited work so far this week. His status for Thursday’s game remains very much up in the air, so I’d look elsewhere if I own Vaccaro. With Vaccaro out last week, the Saints went with a very interesting formation that essentially was a 5-3-3 with two outside linebackers on the line of scrimmage and three inside linebackers. It’s unlikely they deploy this look in Week 12, but it did mean that Malcolm Jenkins was the only every-down safety. That means it’s still too tough to trust Roman Harper in your starting lineup.

Sean Weatherspoon returned for the Falcons, and both he and Paul Worrilow were in every-down roles. Worrilow recorded 16 total tackles and now has 54 in the last three games. Weatherspoon was solid with nine total tackles, but I’d much rather own Worrilow in the fantasy playoffs. Worrilow is now in LB1 territory going forward. … Worrilow isn’t leaving many tackles to be cleaned up, but William Moore should still get a handful of opportunities in what is one of the best fantasy matchups for defensive backs. Thomas DeCoud comes with a much lower floor than Moore, so it’s tough to recommend him in tackle-heavy formats. However, DeCoud makes for an ultra sneaky start in big play leagues.

Hmm. In my nfl.com IDP league John Abraham didn’t get awarded the sack or QB hit you mentioned. Did NFL.com miss it?
