Start Christian Hackenberg this week in DFS

Last week, I laid out three rules for picking your CFB DFS lineups and it’s worth repeating for this week no matter what CFB DFS game you play.

Three rules for Week 6 DFS games:

  1. Pick quarterbacks whose teams average at least 35.0 points per game this season.
  2. Pick high profile running backs that lead their team in carries.
  3. Pick receivers who average over 5 receptions a game.

It’s not easy to fit all of those parameters in and stay under budget in most daily fantasy sports formats, but it is doable. If you lean heavily on players that fit into the three rules you’ll maximize on scoring chances and minimize on picking players that don’t get as many meaningful touches each week.

The biggest thing to remember is that fantasy points are all created equal, and backs and receivers that net 100 yards and a touchdown in a 75 point blowout are the exact same as those scored in a 7-0 win in the MAC. It’s easy to look at guys like Leonard Fournette and Nick Chubb and think you have to get them in your lineups to win CFB DFS games. The truth is that these guys offer a lot of security in terms of being able to produce points, but their price tags are often so high you are handcuffed when it comes to the rest of your lineup.
