StarStreet Pick 5 for Week 9

nfl_g_brees_rodgers_b1_576One of my favorite games over at StarStreet is their Pick 5, which you can play for free each week to win a ticket to other daily games or for money.

The game is simple. There’s five player vs. player matchups, and you pick who you think will score more that week. The best part is that you can play straight from our site by clicking here.

Here’s this week’s Pick 5:

Aaron Rodgers vs. Drew Brees

Cam Newton vs. Tony Romo

Matt Forte vs. LeSean McCoy

Antonio Brown vs. Pierre Garcon

A.J. Green vs. Brandon Marshall

There’s some pretty tough choices here, but here’s my picks for Week 8:

Drew Brees vs. New York Jets

Drew Brees is impossible to pick against because of his high ceiling in fantasy football. But his floor is also higher than Rodgers as well. Brees will throw the ball all day long, especially against a good front seven. Look for Brees to out-perform Rodgers this week. Rodgers goes against a Bears defense who has had a bye week to prepare.

Tony Romo vs. Minnesota

Cam Newton should have a good day in a divisional matchup vs. the Falcons, but Romo faces a porous Vikings secondary and will look to put up huge numbers to prove he is still one of the better quarterbacks in the NFC. Look for Romo to throw for at least two touchdowns and 300 yards.

Matt Forte vs. Green Bay

Marc Trestman has had a week off to prepare for the Packers, and will use his best player in Matt Forte immensely on the ground and through the air. Jay Cutler is out so McCown will check down to Forte multiple times this week, leading to fantasy point opportunities all day long. McCoy faces the Oakland Raiders, but with the Eagles offense sputtering, it is tough to expect much from anyone on that offense.

Antonio Brown vs. New England

Antonio Brown has been a top tier fantasy receiver on StarStreet this year, and he will continue to be against the Patriots this week. Ben Roethlisberger always looks his way, especially on third downs, which the Steelers have had a lot of. Brown should out-perform Pierre Garcon this week as Garcon is losing targets to other Redskins pass catchers such as Jordan Reed.

A.J. Green vs. Miami

It is always tough to pick against Brandon Marshall, but with Josh McCown as his quarterback, you have to pick A.J. Green. The Bengals offense is on fire lately, and will continue to do so against the Miami Dolphins this week. As long as Cutler is out, Marshall becomes a slightly less attractive option. Go with Green this week.

Don’t forget, Pick 5 can be played on our site as well.
