StarStreet Pick 5 for Week 12

One of my favorite games over at StarStreet is their Pick 5, which you can play for free each week to win a ticket to other daily games or for money.

The game is simple. There's five player vs. player matchups, and you pick who you think will score more that week. The best part is that you can play straight from our site by clicking here.

Here's this week's Pick 5:

Drew Brees vs. Peyton Manning

Colin Kaepernick vs. Robert Griffin III

Frank Gore vs. Eddie Lacy

Brandon Marshall vs. Demaryius Thomas

Vincent Jackson vs. Victor Cruz

There's some pretty tough choices here, but here's my picks for Week 12:

Peyton Manning vs. the Patriots

Drew Brees faces off against the Falcons, and that should be a blow out in favor of the Saints, but what is worrying about his fantasy play is the fact that the Saints may turn to running the ball early to run out the clock. Expect Peyton to light up the scoreboards in prime time against a Patriots defense who is really porous in the secondary. Aqib Talib was the one bright spot, and he was handled by Steve Smith last week.

Colin Kaepernick vs. the Redskins

Kaepernick has not been a great option in fantasy football this season, but against the Redskins defense, how can you pick the alternative, especially when it is against the Niners defense. Expect Kaepernick to throw more than he is used to, and if Crabtree comes back this week, Kaepernick could be a top option.

Frank Gore vs. the Redskins

Frank Gore has been yet again a staple RB2 in fantasy football, and it will continue against the Redskins who cannot stop anyone, especially a team who can run the ball as well as the Niners.

Demaryius Thomas vs. the Patriots

As aforementioned, Aqib Talib struggled against Steve Smith, and DT is a lot better than Smith is (with all due respect Mr. 89). On the other side, Brandon Marshall has seemed to play second fiddle to Alshon Jeffery lately, and that may be the status quo going forward.

Vincent Jackson vs. the Lions

The Lions seems to always be involved in shootouts, and this is exactly the kind of game that could be Megatron against Vincent Jackson, whoever can make the most plays wins. My money would be on Megatron, but that means Jackson is going to have a great day. Take him with higher upside over Victor Cruz.
