Punter Rankings – Week 7

mcafeeDenver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning will be making his return to Indianapolis on Sunday night, in what many are expecting to be a shootout against his successor, Colts signal caller Andrew Luck. Without question, the quarterback play in this game is the top draw, but perhaps equally important is the return of Von Miller to the Broncos’ defense. To this point in the season, the Broncos’ defense has been quite stout against the run, but their pass rush has been borderline atrocious without Miller (6-game suspension) and Elvis Dumervil (free agent departure). Meanwhile, the Colts’ offense all but imploded against the Chargers on Monday night, putting up only nine points while getting plagued by dropped passes (Reggie Wayne, Darrius Heyward-BeyCoby Fleener and Trent Richardson were all culpable). For the Broncos, this could be a perfect storm, with Luck’s confidence in his receivers tarnished just enough that an energized Miller can do some real damage rushing from the edge. Many are expecting this to be a highly competitive game between two first-place teams, but the more likely scenario is that the Broncos are going to win in a blowout, with Colts punter Pat McAfee the fantasy beneficiary.
