Zack Martin a candidate for an extension

  • The Dallas Morning News’ Jon Machota expects the Cowboys and RG Zack Martin to work an extension around the start of training camp.
  • Martin should challenge Kevin Zeitler of the Cleveland Browns (five years, $60 million, $31.5 million guaranteed) to be the highest-paid guard in football.
  • Martin was PFF’s top run-blocking guard in 2016 with a grade of 87.1.
  • He has graded out at 85.7 overall or better in each of his first three seasons in the league and earned All-Pro honors twice, allowing just a total of three quarterback sacks in his career thus far.

I don’t know why this is even a article, there is absolutely no way that RG Zack Martin isn’t getting an extension. Martin is the best young Guard in the NFL, RG Marshall Yanda is right there beside him. But Yanda is 32-years-old and on the downside of his career, whereas Martin is still in his prime and could actually get better. Thats a scary thought for any DC in the NFL.
