- When asked who will lead the Washington Redskins in receiving yards, CSN Mid-Atlantic’s Rich Tandler said he thought that particular accolade could belong to one of the Redskins veterans, and that Jamison Crowder will “definitely” be targeted more than Terrelle Pryor.
- Crowder is set to have an expanded role in the Redskins offense this year. He averaged 1.62 yards per route run in 2016, ranking 36th of 51 receivers with at least 85 targets. His WR rating of 112.9 ranked 10th. His 92 targets accounted for 28.1 percent of the Redskins total targets.
- 2016 was essentially Pryor’s first year as a receiver, and he was the 12th-most-targeted wide receiver in the game last year. He averaged 1.70 yards per route run, ranking 34th of 51 receivers with at least 85 targets. His WR rating of 73.6 ranked 45th. His 132 targets accounted for 45.5 percent of the Brown’s total targets.
- In 2016 Crowder’s drop rate of 4.29 and yards after the catch per reception of 5.7 bettered Pryor’s drop rate of 7.23 and yards after the catch per reception of 2.8, both of which could help steer targets away from Pryor in the 2017 season.
