What does Sheldon Richardson's value look like?

With trade rumors swirling about the Jets’ Sheldon Richardson, just what value could he bring to another team? Despite receiving his lowest grade from PFF in his career, Richardson still performed at a high level in 2016 and could be a great buy-low candidate for NFL teams.

  • Richardson tied for the fifth-highest PFF run-defense grade among edge defenders with a grade of 87.9 in 2016.
  • Richardson was most successful rushing from the REO position, getting pressure on 13 percent of his 115 pass-rush snaps. He ranked 33rd out of 53 qualified 4-3 defensive ends with a 7.8 pass-rush productivity score; 2016 was the first time since his 2013 rookie season that he didn’t rank within the top five in his position in terms of PRP.
  • Richardson finished second among 4-3 defensive ends in run-stop percentage at 11.5 percent.
