Vikings second-year WR Laquon Treadwell taking first-team reps in OTAs

  • Reports by Andrew Krammer of the Star Tribune have second-year WR Laquon Treadwell taking first-team reps in three-receiver sets at the onset of the Minnesota Vikings’ OTAs.
  • The 2016 first-round pick was unable to establish himself as a rookie, playing only 79 snaps and earning just three targets in nine game appearances.
  • His 0.33 yards-per-route-run mark was the lowest of any rookie wide receiver with more than 45 snaps in route a season ago, a far cry from his 2.44 yards per route run during his last season at Ole Miss (2015 season).
  • Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford averaged just 7.0 yards per pass attempt (21st in the league) last season, in large part because his average depth of target (6.6) was shortest in the league. The successful development of Treadwell would go a long way towards improving those numbers and elevating the Vikings’ offense in 2017.
