You know those guys are getting tagged.

    • Tim Edell

The Jets will not be tagging both Wilkerson and Harrison.. That will be way too much money tied up in the DL position. Like Tyler said above I could see Snacks getting somewhere in the range of 6 million a season.

      • jody

Can you not only tag one player anyway?

        • Tyler Ferree

Technically there is the Franchise tag and the transition tag. Teams get one of each, though no team has used both in the same offseason. The Transition tag is effectively an expensive RoFR for veteran players, while the Franchise Tag isn’t inherently exclusive rights (most of the time teams actually use the non-exclusive tag, which requires another team to transfer their next 2 first rounders to sign the player making it effectively exclusive rights).

          • hartjdave

You can tag one player using either the franchise or transition tag. Not one of each..

  • Tyler Ferree

I expect the Jets will give Harrison something like 4 years 24 mil with 8-10 guarantee (pure run stuffing nosetackes just aren’t as highly valued as players who can generate pass rush). Wilkerson will be tagged and traded with Richardson and Williams both of whom are younger and under team control for 2 and 4 more years respectively, Wilkerson is more valuable being converted into draft picks.

    • Zachary Mills

So someone gives up a what, 5th rounder? You think an NFL team is going to give up a high draft pick and $14-$15 million per year for at least 5 years? I don’t think so. Wilkerson is younger, better and will be franchised. Harrison will get an offer, especially with Antonio Cromartie probably getting cut freeing up $8 million, but he’s probably gone. You can’t afford to invest too much to one area. Jets are probably better off spending their cap money on the current guys on the roster or adding to the OL, LB/pass rusher.

      • Tyler Ferree

You’d be surprised, a 1 and a future 3/4 is actually pretty likely, same return just 43/34 end is more valuable than corner and Wilkerson is 26 to Revis’ 28.

As a chiefs fan I for one know for a FACT that Berry isn’t going anywhere. His story his passion his leadership you can’t put a price tag on it but the chiefs will. Berry will Top earl Thomas’s contract. As for Von Miller I also see him getting paid Houston like money. They have already invested in Shane ray. They’ll cut ware if they have 2. Manning’s retirement should also free up some money.

    • Zachary Mills

Ware’s a goner. Might go back to Dallas, they’ll have cap space by not bringing Hardy back.
