Will Patriots rebound against Texans’ defense?

The Patriots have now lost two in a row, and face a tough defense in the Houston Texans this week. PFF’s Neil Hornsby talks about why New England has struggled, including the increased pressure put on Brady, as well as personnel changes.

I think teams that lock up their division early tend to have a mindset shift and though they still play to win they really don’t want to risk losing key players to injury so they subconsciously dial it back a bit. Belichick is one coach whose doghouse you want to stay out of though, so I would look for the Patriots to rebound against the Texans.

This is a huge game for the Patriots. They went from looking like the for sure # 1 seed to now needing to win to ensure a first round bye.

I would think cold climate teams would be less dependent on a bye than warm weather or dome teams to succeed but I don’t have any historical data to back up that assumption.

True but there is big difference in being the 2nd and 3rd seed. Imstead of playing at home they may have to play in Cincy or Denver

You want some historical data to back up your statement…..that’s one of the reason why one of the greats, Peyton Manning has a poor playoff record….he has to play playoff games in the cold…..whether in New England, Pittsburg, NY, Cincy, etc….he’s been a dome player most of his career….
