  • Mariota, who broke his right leg in Week 16, was one of the league’s top passers when getting rid of the ball quickly last season.
  • When throwing in 2.5 seconds or less from the pocket, Mariota completed 68.7 percent of his throws with 13 touchdowns, one interception and a passer rating of 103.6. In 2015, he had a passer rating of 99 to go along with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions when taking 2.5 seconds or less to throw.
  • One of his biggest areas of improvement in 2016 was his deep passing. On passes targeted 20-plus yards beyond the line of scrimmage in 2015, Mariota completed just 20.4 percent with a quarterback rating of 32.8. Last season, his accuracy on those throws jumped to 41.9 percent with a passer rating of 101.2. His 26 completions on deep passes were the eighth-most in the NFL.
