  • With CB DeShawn Shead still recovering from a torn ACL, Seattle Seahawks third round pick Shaquill Griffin who recently signed his rookie contract, might have to start opposite Richard Sherman to start the 2017 season.
  • While some may be hesitant at the thought of a rookie corner, there is reason for optimism for Griffin, whose 2016 PFF grade at UCF of 87.6 was fifth highest among college cornerbacks who played at least 250 snaps last season.
  • Despite being thrown at more often than some of the other top cornerbacks in the 2017 draft class, Griffin ranked highly among draft eligible cornerbacks by playing 15.2 coverage snaps per reception allowed, and allowing only 0.92 yards per coverage snap.
