- After missing the last five games of 2016 and talk of retirement last year, the Seattle Seahawks are looking forward to their star defender returning to the lineup healthy and ready to go in 2017.
- Thomas finished 2016 ranked 14th overall among safeties with a grade of 84.1. He also posted a coverage grade of 84.5 (T-seventh) and a run defense grade of 79.1 (31st).
- He did however struggle mightily last year in tackling efficiency (the number of attempted tackles per miss). Thomas was 70th out of 74 eligible safeties who played a minimum of 86 snaps on defense, with a 4.8 in combined tackling efficiency (both run and pass plays).
