Saints add depth, sign C Chris Watt

  • The New Orleans Saints signed veteran center Chris Watt on Monday. Watt was drafted in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers, and has played 676 career snaps along the interior offensive line, including 480 at center.
  • In 2014, Watt ended the season with a pass-blocking efficiency of 97.7, ranking 14th of 39 centers with at least 185 pass-blocking snaps. In 2015, he played just 80 pass-blocking snaps and received a pass-blocking efficiency grade of 91.3, ranking 62nd of 64 centers (with no minimum snap threshold). He lost the 2016 season due to injury.
  • Starting center Max Unger (who received the third-highest pass-blocking efficiency rating among centers last season), is currently recovering from foot surgery, and has said that he plans to be ready for Week 1. However, the signing of Watt gives the Saints depth at the position, and a level of insurance in case Unger suffers a setback.

Chris Watt

watt is really good at back pedaling and getting run over, so there’s that….
Both he and teo were bums for the chargers. low performing, under achieving, injury prone bums.

Brees and Sproles both worked out rather well though…

Maybe that’s the order of things. Chargers draft em, Saints turn ’em into stars, they go to Eagles or Pats after?

Both Breed and Sproles were quality players during their time with the chargers. Watt was a complete bust. Teo seemed to know what to do, he just doesn’t have the athleticism to get it done. Both of course are very injury prone as well.

If only Watt’s first name was just a couple of initials.

          Any initials
