Ronald Darby slated to be Buffalo’s No. 1 CB in 2017

  • With the loss of CB Stephon Gilmore to the Patriots in the offseason, Ronald Darby will now be the No. 1 cornerback for the Buffalo Bills. With the bump up the depth chart Darby, will have a lot more chances to make plays on the ball, a fact Darby has been stressing this week during OTAs, saying “I’ve just got to work on my hands, and that’s something I’ve been stressing.”
  • Darby suffered from a sophomore slump last year, grading as the 66th-best CB with a PFF overall grade of 70.6. With seven pass breakups in 2016 Darby, ranked 28th out of 117 qualifying CBs but struggled to get interceptions, recording zero and dropping three potential INTs.
  • Those numbers all pale in comparison to his 2015 rookie season, when Darby graded as the eighthbest CB in the NFL — his overall PFF grade of 86.3 was the fifth-highest grade by a rookie CB in the PFF era.
  • In that season Darby manged 13 pass breakups, which ranked fifth out of 114 qualifying CBs and caught two interceptions. QBs had a passer rating of just 78.3 when throwing the ball into Darby’s coverage, which ranked 21st out of 118 qualifying CBs.

A lot of errors here grammatically with this article, I hope you guys are able to fix this going forward. It definitely takes away from the piece in my opinion.

That being said it was still a solid article otherwise.

I truly don’t get why you and some other “fans” come online, and call yourselves grading the writers grammer and punctuations. Like i get that the article is suppose to have proper grammar and the correct punctuation, however isn’t it much more important that the writer makes his or her’s point? What do you gain for criticizing the writers grammar and punctuation? Does it make you feel better or that you accomplished something? Why not give your thoughts on the overall article?

Not having proper spelling and grammar takes away from an article or really any form of writing. Now obviously it’s not to the same extent but if I type, “Oh hay thare u, how is ya dong?” it takes away from what I’m trying to say. It makes me feel like he did not bother to go through and re-read his piece and just did a first draft and nothing more.

From a professional writer I expect him/her to not just be posting first drafts and caring about all parts of his/her article, not just the content.

Also, if you did not notice, I said I liked the article otherwise.

By adding 1st round pick CB Tre’Davious White and DB Micah Hyde to the Bills secondary, although CB Ronald Darby has been anointed the Bills #1 CB. The switch to HC Sean McDermott’s 4-3 scheme should help Darby rebound from his sophomore slump, White one of the safest picks in the draft. Will certainly come in and start opposite Darby, and give the Bills 2 young lock-down quality CB’s. Although former GM Doug Whaley was fired, his last draft should bring at least 3 starts and maybe a 4th in QB Nathan Peterman. With two 1st round picks next year, the Bills could have a quick rebuild. Darby is only 25 and his best years are ahead of him.
