PFF takes a look at Gronk's 2016 production, where he was one of the most dominant players on the field when he was healthy.

Rob Gronkowski is ‘feeling great’ at OTAs


    • Patriots tight end Rob Gronkoswki said that, “everything feels good,” and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels said, “he looks like Gronk.”
    • Gronkowski missed a majority of the 2016 season, playing just 352 snaps. He only played 40 or more snaps five times throughout the season.
    • On the season Gronk led all NFL players in yards per route run with 3.18 (minimum 30 targets). During the weeks he was healthy, Gronkowski averaged 3.60 yards per route run, far and away the best in the league.
    • Gronk led all tight ends in weeks 5-10 in targets, receptions, yards, touchdowns, and target percentage on deep passes. He finished the year catching 6 of 9 deep passes for 213 yards and 2 touchdowns. Gronk was not just a dominant receiver, his 72.8 run block grade finished 10th best among 63 qualifiers on the season.

    Teams on the Defensive side of the ball, now know how to defend that guy. IF he doesn’t change what he does after he catches a pass between the 10s. He will go down by the 3rd game of the season. And, soon after, his career won’t continue on the team he is currently playing for.
