  • The Baltimore Ravens signed sixth year cornerback Brandon Boykin on Monday. In the past, Boykin was a consistent performer for the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers. He appeared in all 64 possible games from 2012 to 2015, and mostly played as a slot cornerback.
  • His best season came in 2013 when he ended the year tied for second in interceptions (6), finishing only behind Richard Sherman. His overall grade of 88.9 ranked him third out of 111 cornerbacks with at least 290 snaps. He allowed a passer rating of 64.6 on passes into his coverage, ranking him seventh.
  • In his four-year playing career, he had earned coverage grades of 75.2, 89.3, 80.6 and 80.4, respectively. When lined up in the slot, he has consistently yielded fewer yards per cover snap than the NFL average.
  • Boykin spent all of last season on injured reserve with a pectoral injury, but if he can get back to 100 percent, he can help fill the hole that will be left by promising nickel corner Tavon Young, who tore his ACL in practice last Thursday.
