Patriots sign former long-time Jets LB David Harris

  • According to Adam Schefter, the New England Patriots and linebacker David Harris have agreed to a two-year deal. Harris was a long-time division rival playing for the New York Jets for the past 10 seasons.
  • While never playing at elite levels, Harris has been the model of consistency over the past six seasons grading in the top 45 among off-ball linebackers in five of those six seasons. Harris is coming off his second highest graded season in 2016 ranking as the 35th best linebacker out 87 eligible (77.6 overall grade).
  • Since 2012, Harris has allowed just 0.72 yards per cover snap, the second lowest total during that stretch (min 1000 cover snaps). In 2016, the strong point of Harris’ game was in coverage as he earned the 25th highest coverage grade among linebackers (80.2).
