- Super Bowl LI hero James White of the New England Patriots has reportedly “won over” quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick with steadiness and continued improvement. White’s 20 touches for 139 total yards and three total touchdowns including the game-winning score in the Super Bowl helped earn him a three-year contract extension worth up to $15 million through the 2020 season.
- Entering his fourth season out of Wisconsin, the reliable passing back has improved his receiving grade from 53.0 (on just 17 snaps in which he ran a route) in 2014, to 85.9 in 2015, and to 86.3 in 2016. His 2015 and 2016 receiving grades were good for fourth and second in the NFL respectively.
- White also improved his receiving production going from just 1.35 yards per route run in 2014 to 2.07 YPRR in 2015 (seventh in the NFL), before falling to 1.90 YPRR in 2016 (third in the NFL).
