Patriots host WR Andrew Hawkins for a workout

  • The Patriots hosted former Browns WR Andrew Hawkins for a workout Wednesday.
  • Hawkins ranked 89th out of 115 qualified receivers last season with an overall grade of 60.0. This was the second consecutive season that Hawkins finished with a low grade (59.6 in 2015); he finished the 2014 season ranked 15th among 109 qualified receivers with an 83.1 overall grade.
  • Hawkins ran 88.8 percent of his routes out of the slot last season, the second-highest rate among all receivers who ran at least 250 routes. Danny Amendola led the Patriots last season by running 88.7 percent of his routes from the slot.
  • In 2014, Hawkins ranked 15th among 50 qualified slot receivers with an average of 1.68 yards per route run out of the slot. In 2015 that average slipped to 1.03 yards and in 2016 it dropped down to 0.79 yards, the sixth-lowest average among 54 qualified slot receivers.
