New York Giants’ lining up rookie TE Engram all over the field

  • Last month, the New York Giants used their first round pick on versatile tight end Evan Engram and have wasted no time taking advantage of his ability to line up in a number of positions.
  • Engram has reportedly been “lining up everywhere” during organized team activities thus far by seeing time in-line, in the slot, out wide and at H-back.
  • While Engram was well versed in lining up in a number of positions last year at Ole Miss, lining up in the slot was where he excelled the most. Engram not only led all tight ends in yards per route run while lined up in the slot at a 2.61 YPRR clip, he also led all tight ends in yards from the slot at 685 yards.
  • Slot performance among tight ends in the Giants’ offense was an area of weakness last season as Will Tye, Jerrell Adams and Larry Donnell combined for just 73 yards on 111 routes run from the slot. Engram has the potential to make slot performance out of the tight end position a strength for the Giants’ offense in 2017.
