- After being on the field for just 239 snaps in his rookie season, Myles Jack is being counted on to hold down the middle linebacker position for the Jaguars in 2017.
- Paul Posluszny, who is coming off a career year at middle linebacker, is switching to the outside and recently praised Jack's transition.
- The inside linebacker position is still very new to Jack, as just 13.4 percent of his pro snaps came there, while that number was only slightly higher in his final two seasons at UCLA.
- During his last two seasons at UCLA and his rookie year with the Jaguars, Jack actually spent the majority of his time playing on the outside.
- Thanks in part to his rare speed for the position, he played nearly 60 percent of his college snaps at either outside linebacker or on the edge. Jack shifted between the edge and outside linebacker for nearly 75 percent of his 2016 snaps with the Jaguars.
- Jack gives the Jaguars a defensive chess piece, as his athleticism has also resulted in him earning snaps as a slot corner. Even with big-name offseason additions to the defense, his development will be crucial to the Jaguars' success on that side of the ball.
