  • According to Joe Bucs Fan, Buccaneers running back Doug Martin has looked “quicker” and “bulkier” this offseason. Martin’s status on the team was up in the air after he was hit with a four game suspension in Week 17, but by all accounts has looked great in offseason workouts.
  • After a huge 2015 season that earned him a new five-year deal with the Bucs, Martin struggled with injuries last year which sapped his ability to create yards after contact. Martin averaged 3.15 yards after contact per attempt in 2015 and that number fell to 2.49 in 2016.
  • Another area where Martin took a step back was his breakaway percentage (percentage of yards gained on runs of 15 or more yards). Out of 53 running backs, Martin ranked 52nd in breakaway percentage at just 7.8 percent in 2016.
