Malcolm Butler reports to offseason workout program

According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, CB Malcolm Butler reported to the Patriots’ on Monday.

  • After lengthy trade talks all offseason with the New Orleans Saints, it appears Butler is going to remain a Patriot for the 2017 season.
  • Last year, Butler ranked seventh among 111 qualified cornerbacks with an overall grade of 88.6. He ranked 12th in 2015 with an overall grade of 83.6.
  • Butler was also 12th among cornerbacks in coverage snaps per reception at 12.6 and he ranked 19th with just a 78.2 passer rating against him.
  • Butler teams up with free agent acquisition, Stephon Gilmore to form one of the better CB duos in the NFL; Gilmore ranked 11th among cornerbacks last season with just a 70.6 passer rating against him.
