Maclin could have ‘perfect landing spot’ in Baltimore

  • Jamison Hensley of ESPN think the Baltimore Ravens could be the “perfect landing spot” for WR Jeremy Maclin, who was released by the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday.
  • Last season Maclin’s overall grade of 67.2 ranked him 78th out of 115 qualified wide receivers. This was the second-lowest grade of his career, only ahead of his 56.3 in 2012.
  • Maclin’s 1.39 yards per route run in 2016 was 62nd among 96 qualified receivers.
  • Maclin struggled in the slot, as he was 50th out of 54 receivers in catch rate there at 53.6.

Maclin I think would fit well in Baltimore where they have moved to more of a connect the dots passing game, but he still has the ability to get open downfield as well, which will benefit the Ravens and Flacco. The question is which does Maclin want more at this stage of his career, money or a chance at a ring?

I think his best chance at the ring was probably applying himself more for Andy Reid in KC. The Ravens and a few other teams could use a WR upgrade so Maclin should find a home somewhere.

With the Bills WRs and Taylor’s ability to throw deep, would be a good spot for him.

        • Andre Taylor

You are right, plus his former teammate RB Shady McCoy is putting the clamps on Maclin. The Bills need another WR, so Maclin will end up in Buffalo or Baltimore. If Maclin goes to the Bills, then Baltimore will look to add Decker. It just depends on what Maclin values, the Ravens gives him a better chance at winning. The Bills are on their 3rd HC in the last 5 years, and are rebuilding under a new HC and GM.

Not trying to be funny or anything, however what in the hell are you talking about? Maclin has never had a reputation has a slacker, he had 2 productive seasons in KC and was injured last year. The Chiefs cut Maclin for cap-space and are going young, Andy Reid hasn’t won a Super Bowl in Philly or KC. The Chiefs even with Maclin weren’t going to the Super Bowl, Baltimore has won 2 Championships since 2000. KC has won a Super Bowl since the 60’s, KC has a decent team. However when you start trading away draft picks to get a QB in the 1st round, then that is a clear indication that the team is in transition. In a loaded AFC West, the Chiefs will be hard pressed to win 10 games this year. Joe Flacco has proven that he can win a Super Bowl, KC is looking to replace Alex Smith. So im not sure where you got your theory, but its way off.

Ozzie will get one of the two, either Maclin or Decker

Better fit is in Dallas as a compliment to Dez. They also have the cap space to sign him.
