Justin Houston says that he is healthy

  • According to the Kansas City Star, Kansas City Chiefs edge Justin Houston says he has recovered from the knee injuries that have hampered him the past two seasons. Houston has played just 1,038 snaps (349 in 2016) over the past two seasons after playing a career high 1,056 in 2014 alone.
  • In 2016 Houston experienced a dip in play compared to his standards, grading as the 34th best edge defender with an overall grade of 80.0. His pass-rush productivity of 10.2 was his lowest since his rookie season.
  • When healthy, Houston was arguably the best edge defender in the league. From 2013-2015 he graded in the top five of his position in all three seasons, including ranking first overall in 2014 with a career high grade of 93.3.
  • During Houston’s dominant streak from 2013-2015, he had 201 total pressures which was the most among all 3-4 OLBs.
