Here are the top takeaways and highest-graded players from Tennessee’s 42-39 win against Jacksonville.
Jacksonville Jaguars
– QB Blake Bortles (+4.2) tied his highest overall grade of the season, and his +4.1 passing grade was a new career best. Bortles played very well when he was under pressure yesterday, completing six-of-eight pass attempts for 53 yards, two touchdowns, and a +1.7 PFF Grade. When blitzed, he was 9-of-13 for 105 yards, two touchdowns, and earned a +4.0 grade.
– WR Allen Robinson (+4.6) was the most dominant player on the field yesterday, catching 10-of-13 targets for 153 yards and three touchdowns; Bortles had a 154.8 QB rating when he targeted Robinson. Robinson seemingly got open at will, and that performance just reinforced his status as one of the elite WRs in the NFL; he’s now our fifth-highest graded WR for the season, at +17.7.
– The only player on the defensive side of the football for the Jaguars to earn a positive grade yesterday was LB Telvin Smith (+2.8). Smith led the team with six stops and two sacks in just six pass rush attempts—one of which was a strip sack where he also recovered the fumble—and he was solid in coverage. While in coverage, Smith allowed three-of-four targets to be caught, but for just 15 total yards. After a rough start to the season, Smith has really turned things around, earning a +8.8 overall grade over the last three weeks.

Tennessee Titans
– QB Marcus Mariota (+4.3) put up the highest grade of his rookie season yesterday against Jacksonville. Mariota was extremely effective when throwing the ball between the numbers, going 16 for 20 for 224 yards and three touchdowns along with a +6.1 PFF grade on such throws. He attempted just nine passes outside the numbers, completing four of them for 43 yards and a -1.8 grade.
– WR Dorial Green-Beckham (+1.5) earned the second-highest grade of his season, catching five-of-six targets for 119 yards and a touchdown. Whenever Mariota needed a key completion, if he wasn’t looking at TE Delanie Walker (+5.1), he was likely targeting DGB, and with the exception of one drop (which consequently lead to Mariota’s interception) the rookie wide receiver came through.
– It was a very long game yesterday for the Titans' secondary, especially for starting CBs Cody Sensabaugh (-1.4) and Perrish Cox (-2.1). The two of them combined to allow 12 catches on 18 targets for 134 yards and five touchdowns.
