Inman likely to miss 6 weeks after surgery

  • Los Angeles Chargers receiver Dontrelle Inman will miss up to six weeks this offseason following surgery to repair an injured core muscle, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
  • Inman ran a team-high 357 routes from the slot last season. Despite the volume, he managed just 22 slot receptions for 343 yards and two touchdowns.
  • His 0.94 slot receiving yards per route run ranked 42nd in the league (minimum 131 slot routes).
  • Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers had a 90.6 QB rating when targeting Inman last season.
  • Inman will have to battle to retain a spot in a crowded Chargers’ receiving corps that returns Keenan Allen from injury and features first-round pick Mike Williams.

Chargers have so many good receivers that one or more is likely to hit the waiver wire in September cuts…other teams will be watching…

William im a diehard Raven fan, and im still pissed off at Ozzie not selecting a WR in this years draft. I thought for sure that the Ravens were going to take WR JuJu Smith-Schuster in the 3rd round. When we selected DL Chris Wormley and our hated rival the Steelers got him instead. I was sick to my stomach, we really didn’t need Wormley. After investing 5 different draft picks in the D-line over the last 3 years, not even counting finding undrafted free agent DT/NT Michael Pierce. Yet having a clear need at the WR position, so id love for my Ravens to get ahold of Inman.

I agree Andre, after they didn’t sign a notable free agent WR I thought for sure they would take a WR in the draft. I sure hope things work out for Perriman. Your team is really gonna need him to step up this year.

Well thats true, however our defense has the potential to be outstanding.

It was strange…Ozzie is usually one of the great GMs…I’m a Browns fan & we could sure use another good slot WR too…

Yeah ive been a big fan of Ozzie Newsome since Ravens came to town, i think he is a outstanding GM. But i just didn’t understand the whole thought process, the only thing i can think is Ozzie is targeting a veteran that the Ravens will trade for.
