Houston LB Max Bullough hit with 4-game suspension

  • Max Bullough, a top reserve linebacker for the Texans in 2016, has been suspended for PED use.
  • Bullough, a 2014 UDFA out of Michigan State, has logged 359 snaps over the past two seasons while averaging a 71.6 overall grade.
  • Bullough has also been a major special-teams contributor for the Texans, playing on all four special-teams units in 2016.
  • As the top backup inside linebacker on the depth chart for the Texans in 2016 behind starters Brian Cushing and Benardrick McKinney, Bullough made 11 combined stops while missing zero tackles, which was the most stops without missing a tackle of any inside linebacker in the NFL. He was the only inside linebacker to log at least 25 percent of his team’s defensive snaps and not miss a tackle.
  • Rookie acquisitions of second-round pick Zach Cunningham and undrafted free agent Dylan Cole will bring competition to the position, which could put Bullough’s job in jeopardy for 2017.
