Houston G Jeff Allen looking to get back to 2015 form

  • Prior to the 2016 season, G Jeff Allen signed a five-year, $28 million contract with the Houston Texans after a career-year with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2015.
  • Allen had by far the best year of his career in 2015 with the Chiefs. He ended the season with an overall grade of 81.9, seeing him as the 19th best graded guard in the league.
  • He surrendered just five hurries on 182 pass blocking snaps and didn’t give up a single sack or hit. Allen's pass block efficiency of 97.1 ranked him 16th of 82 guards who has played 180 pass blocking snaps or more.
  • Allen played the majority of his snaps at left guard in Kansas City and had to learn to adjust to the right side with Houston. In his 14 starts, he played 498 pass blocking snaps and surrendered 27 total QB pressures, including five sacks.
  • He ended the season with an overall grade of 48.5, which ranked him as the 72nd guard in the NFL. His pass blocking efficiency of 95.7 ranked him 50th of 77 offensive guards that played 180 pass blocking snaps or more.
  • The Texans need Allen to return to form after last season when the right side of the offensive gave up 47.8% of the team’s total pressures.
