Falcons re-sign one of 2016’s most efficient receivers

  • Taylor Gabriel re-signed with Atlanta on a one-year, $2.8 million contract.
  • In 2016, he gained 2.5 yards per route run including the playoffs, the third-best mark in the entire league.
  • In all games, Matt Ryan had a passer rating of 141.7 when targeting Gabriel last season, the best mark of any receiver in the league.

Why did Carolina not target him for Ted Ginn’s speed replacement??

A lot of the Panther’s personnel moves are head scratchers. They seem to be trying to shape an offense less reliant on Cam Newton but it’s hard to see the logic in that since he’s such a game changer.
