Dorial Green-Beckham might struggle to hold roster spot

  • After an uninspiring rookie season in Tennessee, the Titans traded WR Dorial Green-Beckham to Philadelphia for Dennis Kelly last offseason. The receiver did not take a big step forward in year two.
  • The former five-star recruit was our 103rd-ranked wideout in 2016 (51.3 grade). Eagles quarterbacks had a paltry 68.7 QB rating when targeting Green-Beckham.
  • Alshon Jeffery and Jordan Matthews are seen as roster locks for the Eagles heading into 2016. Nelson Agholor, on the other hand, could be at risk (although the regime has shown patience with other underperforming first-rounders). Green-Beckham’s primary competition, however, will likely come from free-agent signee Torrey Smith.
  • In a battle against the former Raven and 49er, Green-Beckham might be hard-pressed to win a roster spot. Smith had a lackluster 2016 (46.1 grade, 114th among receivers), but has flashed big-play ability in the past.
  • In 2015, quarterbacks had a 116.9 QB rating when targeting the veteran, eighth-best in the league. Smith has accumulated 10 touchdowns on deep passes over the past three seasons.
