Do the Ravens need to add LeGarrette Blount?

  • ESPN's Jamison Hensley believes that the Ravens are the best fit for free agent running back LeGarrette Blount.
  • While his hard-running style will remind Ravens' fans of the glory days when Jamal Lewis was their primary ball carrier, they may not need to add Blount to have success on the ground.
  • Terrance West will open the 2016 season as the starting running back, coming off his career best 76.5 PFF season grade that ranked 13th among running backs. West averaged more yards after contact per carry than Blount did in New England.
  • Kenneth Dixon is suspended for the first four games of the season, but when he returns, his ability to add even more yards after contact will be a welcome boost. Dixon's PFF grade of 72.4 in his rookie year ranked 24th at the position.
