Cowboys WR Terrance Williams comfortable with decision to stay in Dallas

  • Wide receiver Terrance Williams opted to re-sign with the Dallas Cowboys this offseason after they offered a four-year, $17 million deal. The Dallas native told Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that “it just wasn’t about money to me” and cited “the people” as one of his reasons for wanting to remain with the Cowboys.
  • Williams finished the 2016 season ranked tied for 49th out of 115 wide receivers with an overall grade of 74.7, his best since entering the league. The Cowboys wideout has been consistent early on in his career, registering at least 550 receiving yards and three touchdowns each year.
  • Last season, while teammate Dez Bryant was out Weeks 4 through 6 due to injury, Williams proved a valuable asset leading the team in receiving yards. Similarly, in the seven games Bryant missed in 2015 (Weeks 2-7, 16 and 17), Williams led the team with 49 targets and 468 receiving yards.
  • Quarterbacks yielded a 124.6 passer rating when targeting Terrance Williams in 2016 – tops among Cowboys receivers. Williams’ 124.6 wide receiver rating also ranked third in the NFL among receivers with at least 40 targets.

The human is a really good player for Dallas. He needs to continue to massage his contracts so that he can retire there.
