  • The Kansas City Chiefs claimed linebacker Reshard Cliett off waivers from the Titans Tuesday, releasing Jimmy Hall in the process.
  • While having never played a snap of professional football in the regular season, Cliett did have 64 defensive snaps in preseason play for Houston in 2016.
  • He graded well during this preseason exposure, generating two stops and two total pressures on defense, while earning a tackle on special teams.
  • Despite star linebacker’s Derrick Johnson’s return being a question mark and the departure of former starter Josh Mauga, Kansas City waited until the sixth round to address inside linebacker in last month’s draft, leaving a competition for backup snaps between rookie Ekeme Eligwe and veterans Justin March-Lillard, Terrance Smith, and D.J. Alexander.
