  • The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that Browns WR Corey Coleman is battling a hamstring injury and another unspecified injury he suffered during organized team activities. Browns head coach Hue Jackson said he might be held out until training camp begins at the end of July.
  • The Browns drafted Coleman in the first round in 2016. Coleman had hamstring issues at Baylor and dealt with another hamstring problem last preseason. He also missed six games his rookie season after breaking his hand in Week 2.
  • In the ten games Coleman played in 2016, his production was underwhelming. His overall PFF grade was 53.5, ranking him 100th out of 115 qualifying wide receivers. His best game was Week 2 against Baltimore when his PFF grade was 75.8 (20th out of 104 receivers), and his yards per route run of 3.25 was 14th best.
  • Despite being the first receiver drafted in 2016, Coleman was one of the least effective of the rookie wide receivers last year. He had the third lowest yards per route run of the rookie WR class with at least 300 snaps in route at 1.15.  His passer rating when targeted of 70.2 was second lowest of all rookie receivers with at least 50 targets.
