  • According to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com, rookie wide receiver and first-round pick John Ross may not be ready for the start of training camp. Ross underwent shoulder surgery to repair his labrum after the NFL combine and isn’t expected to be ready before “early August or so.”
  • The Bengals selected Ross with the ninth overall pick in the NFL draft in April. Ross ranked as the third best wide receiver and 19th best overall prospect on the PFF draft big board.
  • Ross ranked 14th among 119 draft eligible wide receivers with 3.05 yards per pass route and tied for seventh among draft eligible receivers forcing 18 missed tackles.
  • Quarterbacks excelled when throwing the ball to Ross last season, in particular when throwing to him on post routes, slant routes and on quick outs, having passer ratings well above the NCAA average for those routes.
