Andre Ellington is moving back to running back

  • After changing positions to wide receiver back in March, the Cardinals Andre Ellington has been moved back to running back.
  • After a promising rookie year where he earned a grade of 81.1, Ellington has now gone three straight seasons with grades under 65.
  • As teammate David Johnson has emerged, Ellington’s snap total has decreased from over 400 in both 2013 and 2014 to just 150 last season, accounting for just 13% of the Cardinals’ offensive snaps in 2016.
  • In Ellington’s first two seasons, he saw a total of 119 targets. The last two seasons, Ellington has seen a total of only 35.
