Good morning football fans! Here are the five things you need to know coming out of Monday to get your morning started right:

  1. Giants star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was a no-show at day one of the team’s OTAs. These OTAs are voluntary, but strongly encouraged by coaching staff and the organization. Beckham has missed voluntary team activities in the past, and has still been one of the game’s best receivers, so this is likely nothing to be concerned about. In 2016, he forced 29 missed tackles after the catch, the most among all wideouts in the game.
  2. The Chicago Bears are reportedly planning on switching their two guards around, playing Kyle Long on the left side and Josh Sitton on the right in 2016. Why the Bears would want to mess with a sure thing is unclear, but as a pair they combined to allow zero sacks, one hit and 15 total hurries in 2016, albeit with missed time for each player.
  3. The Los Angeles Chargers plan to use WR Travis Benjamin more on punt returns in 2017. Benjamin fielded punts for the team last season, but so did multiple other players, with Isaiah Burse getting more than twice the opportunities that Benjamin did. Benjamin didn’t fair catch a single punt last season, but his average of 6.6 yards per return and a longest return of 18 yards didn’t set the world alight.
  4. Rookie Rams receiver Cooper Kupp has reportedly been lighting up rookie camp so far. Kupp was otherworldly productive at the FCS level for Eastern Washington during his college career, and continued to dominate every time he was asked to step up in level of competition. His dominance caused us to go and grade his entire season, and his grade of 89.3 was good enough for second in the nation. Kupp could have an immediate impact for a team needing weapons at wide out.
  5. PFF Fantasy's Scott Barrett is counting down the top five individual weeks of the 2016 season based on his Actual Opportunity metric. Monday was the No. 5 week, featuring Le'Veon Bell's monster Week 10 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
