49ers picked up big-time slot weapon in 5th round

  • The San Francisco 49ers drafted wide receiver Trent Taylor out of Louisiana Tech with the 177th overall selection in the NFL draft.
  • The 5-foot-8, 181-pounder ranked 16th among wide receivers on PFF’s Big Board.
  • Taylor led the class in both receiving yards (1,734) and receptions (131) from the slot, where he lined up 95 percent of the time in 2016.
  • His 3.27 yards per route run rank 12th in the class.
