PFF Week: Back East, Week 8

PFF-Week-Back-EastIt’s your last chance to get caught up on the happenings at PFF before the next slate of games is upon us, and our new ‘PFF Week’ posts provide quick access to the week that was. The ‘Back East’ edition covers all things pertaining to the AFC and NFC East divisions for a one-stop Saturday shop built to keep you in the loop and on top of your football-watching game.

Another week with that features inter divisional games with huge implications for the East teams. New England, coming off a loss to the Jets, plays Miami, while the Eagles and Giants square off. Dallas gets Detroit and Buffalo faces New Orleans in what should be two of the highest scoring games of the week. Elsewhere, the Jets and Redskins are in tough against Cincinnati and Denver respectively. Week 8 will be an important one for most of these teams and will help determine division supremacy, but with these two divisions things look like they'll go down to the wire. Here's what the teams back East have been up to on Pro Football Focus this week:

The list includes Easters Marcell Dareus, Justin Tuck, Lesean McCoy and Jeremy Kerley. A breakdown of Run Stop % among inside linebackers looks at who is and isn't performing against the run in our look inside Signature Stats. Sean Lee and Brandon Spikes are both in the top ten, while other Easter's find themselves struggling against the ground game.

In the Power Rankings, the Patriots took a three spot hit but still remain in the top ten rounding out the group along with the Cowboys.
