PFF Week: Back East, Week 14

PFF-Week-Back-EastIt’s your last chance to get caught up on the happenings at PFF before the next slate of games is upon us, and our new ‘PFF Week’ posts provide quick access to the week that was. The ‘Back East’ edition covers all things pertaining to the AFC and NFC East divisions for a one-stop Saturday shop built to keep you in the loop and on top of your football-watching game.

With four weeks left in the season the NFC East race is heating up. The Eagles and Cowboys are tied atop the division while the Giants are still in the mix and Washington is finished. In the AFC East the Patriots are dominating and looking towards a possible #1 seed if things continue to break their way. Miami is a very relevant team in the wild card race and could surprise a lot of people with a back door playoff birth. Here's what the teams back East have officially been up to on Pro Football Focus this week:

Marcell Dareus, Mike Pouncey, Prince Amukamara and Ryan Kerrigan are all profiled. Next Man Up lists Kevin Boothe as the player who who has to step up with an injury to Giants' center Jim Cordle. Pete Damilatis had this to say about Boothe: The Giants’ most versatile lineman, Boothe already started at center once this season back in Week 1. When he stepped in for Cordle this past week, he earned a career-high+4.1 run block grade. Special team Giant Damontre Moore is still on the PFF Special Teamer Honor Roll, listed in last week's The Third Phase.
