PFF Week: Back East, Week 13

PFF-Week-Back-EastIt’s your last chance to get caught up on the happenings at PFF before the next slate of games is upon us, and our new ‘PFF Week’ posts provide quick access to the week that was. The ‘Back East’ edition covers all things pertaining to the AFC and NFC East divisions for a one-stop Saturday shop built to keep you in the loop and on top of your football-watching game.

After last week's lighter schedule for the East teams all eight are in action this week. Dallas took over the NFC East lead with a win on Thursday forcing Philly to keep pace by beating a tough Arizona team on Sunday. Washington is all but finished while the Giants hold on to a slim hope. But increasingly this looks like a two horse race. New England cemented itself as a contender with a win over Denver last week, while the Bills travel north of the border to play Atlanta in Toronto this week. The only excitement left seemingly left on their schedule. Here's what the teams back East have officially been up to on Pro Football Focus this week:

In this week's breakdown of one of our Signature Stats, Rick Drummond looks at Pass Rushing Productivity and its importance in determining effectiveness. The Philadelphia and Buffalo defensive lines are both above average along with New England and Washington's linebacking corps. Tom Brady made Week 12's Team of the Week along with guard LoganMankins, linebacker Brandon Spikes and Jets' DT Damon Harrison. Conversely, New England had two defensive linemen (Chris Jones, Joe Vellano) on the Had a Bad Day team.
