PFF Roundup – Week 4

sandersEach week I’ll be taking a look around PFF Main content and features to see what fantasy insight we can take away to help owners going forward. This week we’re examining several running backs and their value going forward, along with two young quarterbacks and what they offer fantasy owners for the rest of 2014.

Replacing Decker’s production

Emmanuel Sanders’ average draft position leading up to 2014 moved into the fourth round, which seemed pricey at the time. Fortunately for owners who were willing to pay, Sanders has already developed a great rapport with Peyton Manning.

As Steve Palazzolo writes in his Broncos-Seahawks ReFo, Sanders caught his 11 passes in Week 3 on a variety of routes. Eight of Sanders’ 11 receptions went for first downs against Seattle.

Sanders is catching 75.8 percent of targets that come his way. He has also been on the field for 196 of the Broncos 204 offensive snaps through three games.

Wes Welker’s return might end up eating into his targets a bit, but Sanders appears to have gained Manning’s trust already. Even better news for his owners, Sanders is the WR13 in PPR leagues and he hasn’t caught a touchdown yet. Selling high on Sanders seems like the wrong way to go. His impact in Denver is for real.
