PFF Preview: Redskins @ Giants, Week 15

2014-Prev-WK15-WAS@NYGThe (3-10) Washington Redskins travel to MetLife Stadium on Sunday to play the (4-9) New York Giants. The winner will stay out of the NFC East cellar. Both teams have been going through pretty rough stretches recently, with the Redskins having lost five straight and the Giants losing four of five.

Ryan Kerrigan has quietly been having an outstanding season in Washington as his +17.4 overall grade ranks seventh out of all 3-4 outside linebackers. His 54 total pressures give him the fourth-best Pass Rush Productivity rating at 12.4. Giants’ second-year right tackle Justin Pugh will be seeing a lot of Kerrigan on Sunday. Pugh’s overall grade stands at -6.2 and while his pass blocking grade has hovered right around zero for the year, his Pass Blocking Efficiency rating of 95.1 ranks just 29th.

Here are a few other players to look out for.

Washington Redskins

Trent Williams – He ranks 16th overall out of all left tackles with a +7.9 grade and his Pass Block Efficiency rating of 96.8 ranks seventh.

Jason Hatcher – Hatcher’s +18.3 pass rushing grade trails only J.J. Watt out of all 3-4 ends and his Pass Rushing Productivity rating of 9.6 ranks third.

Trent Murphy – The rookie 3-4 outside linebacker has made a great impact in the run game with the 10th-ranked run defense grade at +5.7. He also ranks 11th in Run Stop Percentage at 6.2%.

New York Giants

Odell Beckham Jr. – Beckham has jumped up to 10th overall with a +10.9 receiving grade and his Wide Receiver Rating of 119.8 ranks fourth.

Johnathan Hankins – His +21.3 overall grade ranks fifth among NT/DTs and his Pass Rush Productivity rating of 9.2 ranks third.

Jason Pierre-Paul – He has been flat out dominant in the run game with the top-ranked +17.0 run defense grade and his 9.1% Run Stop Percentage ranks fifth out of all 4-3 ends.
